Its held up astonishingly well. Compared to other SNES rereleases its got a much better sense of pace; its much quicker to give the player the reigns but not at the expense of building a compelling scenario. The combat has enough in the way of asymmetry and overlapping systems that its immediately compelling. Theres not the 5-hour preamble you get in most RPGs of this era.
